Please let the file load for a few seconds before trying to view as each mag is quite a large file. Also, some of the earlier files may show slight glitches in terms of images and surrounding space and overlays – some of the fonts and preference files have changed since the earlier versions so some areas don't always display as intended.
Hopefully this shouldn't be too noticeable and the reading experience unaffected. It's also worth bearing in mind that these publications were designed to work in a printed format, so for example, pages with a 2 or 3 column grid are less easy to read online than a single text column. All issues since 2018 address this point.
Another improvement for the online editions is a more continuous reading flow from page to page as opposed to articles being spread over various pages due to print restrictions and limited number of pages. And of course, everything is now full colour, whereas print costs have previously limited the number of colour pages.
All-in-all we think we're moving forward in a good direction with lots of exciting things to come such as clickable links and embedded video to enhance the viewing experience.
An important point to note is that the flip book software requires Adobe Flash to be loaded in your browser for optimum viewing. If a device doesn't allow Flash (such as Safari browser on a Mac) the files will still load and display but with a slightly different graphic interface.
At some future point HTML5 will be used for viewing the Mag. Any feedback on using these files would be appreciated so we can ensure the best reading experience for the future.
