What is Homeopathy?
Homeopathy is a system of medicine very different from the orthodox treatments that we are taught about in veterinary school, but this system also has its therapeutics and its materia medica. This presentation will introduce the fundamentals of veterinary. It will cover its history and development, how the remedies are created and the basic principles that govern it’s use in animals. The aim is to provide a foundation of knowledge and understanding to equip you to gain the maximum value from the sessions that follow.
Ilse Pedler BSc(Hons), MA, VetMB, VetMFHom, MRCVS
Current research and Evidence for Homeopathy
A common criticism of homeopathy is that it has no evidence base. Ilse will show how this is a misconception by summarising the latest research and discussing the current ideas and proposed mechanisms of the action of homeopathic medicines.
Tim Couzens BVetMed, VetMFHom, CertVetAc, MRCVS
Equine case example: A case of pyloric ulcers
Tim will present the case of Lawyer, a warmblood gelding with grade 3 pyloric ulcers, treated successfully homeopathically where treatment with Omeprazole was not an option.
Chris Aukland, BVSc, VetMFHom, MRCVS
Farm Homeopathy
Chris will talk about how to effectively improve the health of livestock with homeopathy. A practical approach to using homeopathic principles, combined with good husbandry, to create optimum health, vitality and productivity on the farm.
Emily McAteer MVB, VetMFHom, ISHom, MRCVS
Case examples
In this presentation, I’ll share a couple of real-life cases where homeopathy played a key role in helping animals recover as part of an integrative approach. These are examples of how homeopathy can work alongside conventional treatments to support healing in a practical, grounded way. The aim is to give a feel for how it actually looks in day-to-day practice—simple, effective, and rooted in real experience.
Geoff Johnson VetFFHom, MRCVS
Treating Cancer cases with Homeopathy: Case presentations
Geoff will share some of his experience using homeopathy to treat cancer.
Edward De Beukelaer DVM, MRCVS, VetMFHom
